Sarah Pschorn is a visual artist and experimental object maker based in Leipzig/Germany. Her three-dimentional collages mainly made of clay, porcelain and found objects are a playful discovery of the space in between joy and melancholia, they aim at getting lost in details and characteristics and thus negotiate the nature of impermanence. A statement in favor of sweetness and sentimentality. Her chosen form, the vase, refers to the history of ceramics, the objects serve as receptacles for her ideas and thoughts and in particular remind the spectator of female bodies that have been dressed up.
Sarah was born in Dresden and grew up surrounded by the historical baroque architecture of the city. At the age of 5, she discovered her passion for working with clay. 15 years later She studied fine art with a focus on ceramic, sculpture and photography at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle/Germany and Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem/Israel. 2016 she opened her own studio in Leipzig/Germany. In the last few years Sarah Pschorn has shown her work to an international audience in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, USA and Switzerland. Her work was regarded with several prizes and scholarships.
